        BARC & NANT FAWR

As well as looking at the distribution of Toxocara spp. at a national level, BARC is also monitoring local scale distribution of these parasites.

Nant Fawr is a green corridor located in North Cardiff, which maintained by the community. With ~100 acres of mixed woodland, grassland, meadow, Nant Fawr is frequently used by dog walkers and provides an ideal study area for BARC close to the University.

Currently BARC is working with the Cardiff City Council rangers to assess whether dog fouling is associated with high levels of Toxocara spp. within the different habitats in Nant Fawr.

The Friends of Nant Fawr Community group are commited to protecting and preserving the Nant Fawr woodlands and meadows.
