The BARC project relies on the help of volunteers for soil sample collection. This map shows all the soil samples that have been analysed by BARC in the last two years. This map also shows whether these sites were positive or negative for Toxocara spp. BARC is aiming to analyse the distribution of Toxocara spp. around the UK. Toxocara spp. are nematode worms that frequently infect dogs, cats and foxes around the globe. These worms can also infect humans, however public understanding of the diseases that they cause is limited.
